Anger Management
Anger is a natural emotion and is experienced by everyone. For some people, however, anger is a difficult emotion to cope with. When anger becomes an issue it can affect all aspects of people’s lives. If you feel that you would like to be able to manage your anger, perhaps an Anger Management course might be of help to you.


When does anger become a problem?
Anger becomes a problem when it is felt too intensely, is felt too frequently, or is expressed inappropriately. When anger is a problem, it can lead to violent and/or abusive behaviour and has a very negative effect on all relationships.

 


What can you do to manage your anger?
Anger management begins with acknowledging the problem. Next, understanding what anger is and what it isn’t can help with dealing with it. Recognition of what triggers anger is a key part of the process. The course will give you some tools which you can use in daily life to help you manage your anger. These tools include:

  • Relaxation techniques
  • Ways of changing the way you think
  • Ways of changing the way you act
What is on offer?
The Anger Management courses consist of eight 2 hour sessions and include:
  • Understanding anger
  • Recognizing anger
  • Thought and Belief techniques for anger management
  • Assertiveness training
  • Communication skills
  • Stress management and relaxation training
  • Problem solving skills
